Make it
Yield: 1 cocktail in a 300 mL rocks glass
Estimated timing: About 10 minutes preparation and total time. Untested estimate.
Ingredients
- 40 mL vodka
- 50 mL freshly squeezed mandarin juice, strained
- 15 mL fresh lime juice
- 10 mL plain sugar syrup, prepared below
- 6 fresh mint leaves, about 1 g, washed
- 120 g shaking ice
- 70 g fresh serving ice
- Sugar syrup preparation: 20 g sugar and 20 mL drinking water
Method
Prepare syrup
Stir sugar and water until dissolved; use warm water if necessary, then cool. Measure 10 mL syrup. Preparation makes extra, with no storage-life promise. Timing assumes cooled syrup ready.
Press mint
Put mint and measured syrup in a shaker and press gently two or three times with a muddler. Do not grind the leaves.
Shake and fine-strain
Add vodka, mandarin juice, lime juice and 120 g shaking ice. Close securely and shake about 10 seconds. Fine-strain into a 300 mL rocks glass over 70 g fresh ice. Discard caught mint and shaking ice.
Serve
Serve promptly without garnish. Contains alcohol; for adults of legal drinking age only. No tested balance, exact strained yield or measured ABV claim.
Allergens and handling
Review citrus and mint sensitivities plus vodka and other ingredient labels. No allergen-free claim.
Use washed produce and clean utensils; follow ingredient label storage instructions. Refrigerate perishable components promptly. No recipe-specific shelf-life promise.
Trial checks
- Record mandarin sweetness and vodka brand.
- Check mint strength, strained yield and glass headspace; log measured changes.
