Make it
Yield: 2 dessert portions in 300 mL jars or bowls
Estimated timing: Estimated 15 minutes preparation plus 4 hours refrigerated setting; 4 hours 15 minutes total. Untested estimate.
Ingredients
- 200 g plain unsweetened yogurt
- 100 mL milk
- 30 g chia seeds
- 10 g unsweetened cocoa powder
- 20 g pure maple syrup
- 100 g fresh sweet cherries, washed, pitted and quartered
Method
Mix cocoa base
Whisk cocoa with milk and maple syrup until no dry cocoa pockets remain. Whisk in yogurt.
Add chia
Stir in chia seeds thoroughly. Stand for 5 minutes, then stir again to break up clumps; this standing time is part of preparation.
Set
Divide the base equally between two clean 300 mL jars or bowls. Cover and refrigerate for 4 hours until thickened. Keep chilled; no room-temperature setting.
Top and serve
Check cherries carefully for remaining pits. Divide the measured pitted cherries between the two chilled pots just before serving. No chocolate shavings, cream or extra sweetener included. No nutrition or health benefit claimed.
Allergens and handling
Contains milk. Check yogurt, cocoa, chia and other labels for allergens/cross-contact. No allergen-free claim.
Use washed produce and clean utensils; follow ingredient label storage instructions. Refrigerate perishable components promptly. No recipe-specific shelf-life promise.
Trial checks
- Record yogurt thickness and chia hydration.
- Check texture after 4 hours and cherry sweetness; log measured changes.
